SPPS Board of Education Screening
UPDATE: SPFE has endorsed Omar Syed, Stephanie Anderson and Uriah Ward for SPPS Board of Education. You can review the SPFE Candidate Report Card here.
SPFE will be screening school board candidates on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 5pm via Zoom. This screening is open to anyone, including the general public, but you must RSVP by 3pm Wednesday, 4/15 in order to receive the Zoom link. The screening will be recorded and made available upon request. This screening is NOT open to the press.
All candidates will screen together, and will receive the questions in advance. No questions from attendees will be taken, and no questions from the chat will be taken. Please note, this is a screening, not a candidate forum and no campaigning during the screening is permitted.
Immediately following the screening, candidates and campaign staff and volunteers will be asked to leave. A feedback form will be made available to the remaining attendees to share their insights on the candidates. RSVP here.
Candidate questionnaires are available for review. All candidates must meet the SPFE Minimum Criteria for Endorsement, and shadow an educator for a day to qualify to screen.
SPFE will screen the following candidates for endorsement. (Please note that incumbent SPPS Board Chair Uriah Ward was endorsed for re-election in January, and will participate in the screening. SPFE will determine potential endorsements for two additional candidates):

Senate District 65 Candidate Screening
ENDORSEMENT UPDATE
SPFE has endorsed Public Education and Labor champion Robyn Gulley for Senate District 65. If you are a delegate or alternate, please attend your convention on Sunday, March 29 at Humboldt High School. Don’t forget to wear your best SPFE red!
