The Saint Paul Federation of Teachers (SPFT) and the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) are partnering with the East Side Freedom Library to host a book club this summer. All are welcome to join us!
We will be meeting on Wednesdays from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Meetings will take place on 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/25, 8/8, and 8/22 at the East Side Freedom Library (1105 Greenbrier St). If you register, we ask that you attend at least four of the discussions.
This summer’s book club will be focused on the history of the labor movement, especially the role of women and People of Color in its history, and how this history connects to labor struggles and uprisings around the country today.
We will be starting by reading Rethinking the American Labor Movement by Liz Faue. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at Subtext Books in Downtown Saint Paul.
Register here to let us know if you’ll be attending! Questions? Contact Patrick Burke (patrick@spft.org) or Caitlin Reid (creid@mape.org).
